Our hospital is well-equipped to perform most minor and major surgical procedures from spays and neuters to more complicated emergency and soft tissue surgeries.
Prior to surgery, each patient receives a thorough physical examination to identify any existing medical conditions that might endanger a pet's health. Because not all problems can be detected on examination, we also suggest pre-anesthetic blood testing. These tests not only give us a more complete picture of your pet's health, but allow us to tailor an anesthetic regime that is specific for your pet.
We offer a wide variety of anesthetic protocols tailored to your pet's individual needs. We use state-of-the-art anesthetic machines offering isoflorane anesthesia. We also utilize pulse oximetry, doppler blood pressure, and EKG on all anesthetized patients to ensure a smooth anesthetic procedure.
Pain management is an important part of our pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative anesthetic and medical protocol. All surgical patients including those undergoing routine procedures such as spays and neuters receive pain control medications.
Up to date vaccines are what have saved so many lives and prevented widespread disease. Each pet is unique and so are their families. We develop vaccine protocols based on your pet's needs, lifestyle and exposure. Puppy and kitten vaccine series are vital to their well-being. Please make an appointment so that we can explain the process in detail and meet the new addition.
At Carroll Gardens Veterinary Group, we have extensive in-house laboratory services. While your pet is in the exam room, blood work results can be given especially if they are critically ill or injured. We also work with an outside lab and have sample pick-ups twice a day to ensure prompt services and results.
Digital x-ray is now available in veterinary medicine and provides extremely fast results. The images are high quality and well detailed, thus providing a more accurate diagnosis for your pet. Images can be stored and saved to a disc. Digital images are easily transmitted to specialists and consultants for further evaluation if required.
At Carroll Gardens Veterinary Group, we are one of the few hospitals in Brooklyn that have a digital dental x-ray unit. This is essential to evaluate if a tooth needs to be extracted or not or if the mass in the mouth has extended to deeper tissue or bone. It also provides a dental time table for further treatments and when they should be scheduled. Dr. Mollica has spent many years performing dentistry and complicated extractions.
Dental care is extremely important to your pet's health. We offer several preventative products and foods, as well as dental procedures to care for your pet's teeth. With regular exams and dental check-ups you can help protect your pet from harmful diseases such as gingivitis and periodontal disease.
